1.2 Objects

Each page contains some number of schematic elements, represented by the object type. There are several sub-types of object, including:

• graphical lines, circles, arcs, rectangles and paths;
• nets and net pins;
• buses and bus pins;
• pictures;
• text;
• and symbol instances, known as 'components'.

Each object can be part of at most a single page – they cannot be shared between pages. objects are automatically garbage collected.

Most of different object sub-types are quite straightforward to understand. The main exceptions are components, and the text object-based attribute mechanism, which are described in the following sections.
